Holy Rosary students collect $2,328 for Haiti

A number of students approached Mr. Murray and faculty members about how they could respond to the disaster that struck Haiti in mid-January. Their heartfelt concern and compassion were evident as they sought a way to make a difference and unite their peers. At the school Mass on January 20th, 8th graders Adam Kneepkens and Billy Menor spoke about the country of Haiti and our responsibility as a faith community to follow the Catholic Social Teachings and take care of the least among us. Students prayerfully brought their own money, some handfuls of change or a baggy filled with their contribution which totalled $2,327.65 (as of Jan. 26th). The money raised will be added to the collections taken at the Cathedral to support the work of Catholic Relief Services on the ground in Haiti. Thank you, Holy Rosary students, faculty and families.
